Acoustic Damping Tube Muffles Vibration

Glass is highly dense, preventing the problematic case vibration that occurs with other speaker enclosure materials. However, it is also highly reflective, magnifying the energy generated by drivers. Rather than using damping materials inside the enclosure--and defeating the esthetic purpose of glass speakers--Waterfall Audio developed patented Acoustic Damping Tube (ADT) technology to muffle the energy right from the back of the driver.

The ADT is the fundamental element that enables drivers to function properly in the Victoria EVO’s non-damped glass enclosure. Located at the rear of the mid-bass driver, the ADT limits the return of the back wave on the cone. Its integrated damping chamber provides damping control of medium-high frequencies, resulting in superior audio reproduction. The ADT also provides hydraulic damping in the low frequencies to help control excessive movement of the cone--reducing distortion while increasing the speaker’s mechanical power handling abilities. Finally, mechanical uncoupling of the mid-bass driver and the glass enclosure supports audio integrity and prevents mid-range coloration. The ADT delivers quick, crisp bass and exceptionally accurate mid-range reproduction.

Smooth and Detailed High Frequencies

All Waterfall Audio crossovers and filters are equipped with the finest components, such as air coil and polypropylene capacitors. The Victoria EVO also utilizes Acculinear circuit technology in the tweeter crossover, which provides exceptionally smooth and detailed high frequencies.

Reduced Inductance Variation, Reduced Distortion

As it is pushed in and out of the motor assembly, voice coil inductance is subject to change because of its proximity to the magnetic pole. This dynamic inductance variation is one of the major causes of distortion and also affects driver frequency response. Exclusive Atohm Dynamic Reluctance Control (DRC) technology keeps the inductance value steady throughout the voice coil’s excursion range, decreasing distortion and increasing driver dynamic capability. In addition, DRC technology reduces the average inductance value, resulting in better control of the frequency range and a more linear frequency response from the driver.

Unique Rubber Surround

The mid-bass driver’s rubber surround is specially shaped using Low Diffraction Surround (LDS) technology for superior transition of the sound wave near the surround. LDS delivers improved linearity, as well as increased protection from harmonic and Doppler distortion.

Accommodate Your Room’s Audio Signature

Every room has its own audio signature. With the Victoria EVO’s adjustable 8-inch passive radiator located on the bottom of the cabinet, you can compensate for this by adding or decreasing the weight on the bottom of the speaker. This results in much cleaner low frequency reproduction.
